Keystone Architectural Services originally designed a 20,000-square-foot, two-story building for the owner's tenant, the National Finance Corporation. A year later, the tenant had experienced such rapid growth that Keystone designed a 30,000-square-foot addition of the same steel-frame and light-gauge steel stud with brick veneer construction as the original. The addition blends so well there is no hint that there were two different construction dates. The building features an open atrium at the entrance, with skylights and a balcony.

The building's owner always had certain questions about the stability of the sole tenant, so Keystone designed the building for the possibility of multiple tenants.

For example, restrooms were designed with wraparound fire walls; interior corridors were fire-rated; and core areas were strategically located so that the building could easily be converted to accommodate multiple tenants.

When NFC shut down operations with no warning in December of 1999, the owner was able to quickly advertise space for multiple tenants, with a minimum of reconstruction. Thus, the client was able to retain ownership of a profitable property because of the forethought and planning which went into the architectural design.
